1 Listen to my prayer, O God;
don’t turn away from my desperate call.
2 Hear me, Lord, for I’m overwhelmed;
my heart groans, my spirit falls.
3 Voices of trouble close me in,
fear and chaos press me tight;
their anger strikes like a bitter fight.
4 My chest aches with every beat,
shadows of death creep near my door.
5 Panic shakes me to the core;
I long to flee, to find some peace,
a quiet place where worries cease.
6 Oh, for wings to soar away,
to rest beyond this storm’s cruel play!
7 I’d escape to a far-off land,
safe from the wind, the shifting sand.
8 Lord, confuse their wicked schemes;
silence the lies that tear my dreams.
9 I see betrayal in every street,
deceit where trust once stood so tall.
10 Day and night, they circle round,
sowing discord, breaking ground.
11 Pain and ruin fill my days,
yet worse—it’s not a stranger’s hand;
12 If it were, I’d bear the stand.
13 But it’s you, my friend, my guide,
who walked with me, side by side.
14 We shared laughter, dreams, and prayer,
now your words cut through the air.
15 Let justice fall on hearts so cold;
may truth rise, as You’ve foretold.
16 But I will call on You, my God;
You’ll save me from this sinking sod.
17 Morning, noon, and night I cry,
and You, O Lord, will hear my sigh.
18 You rescue me from every fight,
though countless foes cloud my sight.
19 God, eternal on Your throne,
will humble those who’ve never known
the fear of You, the change You bring—
their hearts stay hard, unyielding.
20 My friend turned foe, with hands once kind,
broke trust, left promises behind.
21 His words were smooth, a soothing stream,
yet hid a blade, a ruthless scheme.
22 I cast my cares on You, O Lord;
You’ll lift me up, my sure reward.
